After the Associated Press declared his victory, New Mexico Senator Ben Ray Lujan gave his victory speech. He thanked his supporters, and said he was grateful for all of the phone calls and hours spent volunteering on his campaign. He talked about growing up on a small farm in New Mexico, and how he learned the value of hard work there. He said that the people of New Mexico share the values he learned as a child. He ended his speech by saying that no matter how someone voted, that everyone is in it together.
