Mitch McConnell spoke on the fourth night of the Republican National Convention to advocate for Donald Trump's reelection in November's Presidential election. The Senate Leader spent much of his time imploring Americans to keep Republicans in power not just in the White House, but in the Senate, as well. McConnell accused Democrats of not wanting "to improve life for middle America" and warned that they want to dictate every aspect of everyday Americans lives.

Senator Majority Leader Mitch McConnell, addressed the senate as deadlocked continued to ensue over a coronavirus stimulus bill. He blasted the Democrats over what he called their "wish list" of items that they wished to see in the new legislation. Some of the items on the list were tax credits for wind and solar energy, provisions "to force employers to give special treatment to big labor," and new emission standards for the airlines. He then said "Are You Kidding Me?" He argued that the items had nothing to do with the COVID-19 crisis.

Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell spoke on the Senate floor one day after the House of Representatives approved two articles of impeachment against President Donald Trump. McConnell criticized House Democrats for conducting a "slapdash" impeachment investigation that resulted in "the most rushed, least thorough and most unfair impeachment inquiry in modern history."

Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell gave a speech on the Senate floor in which he responded to Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer's letter requesting four witnesses be called at the Senate impeachment trial of President Trump. McConnell denied Mr. Schumer's request, saying that it was up to House Democrats to make their case regarding impeachment. McConnell said "The Senate is meant to act as judge and jury, to hear a trial, not to re-run the entire fact-finding investigation because angry partisans rushed sloppily through it."
